NTT Com and Digital Forest to Develop Web Analytics Solutions

TOKYO (JAPAN) March 25, 2009– NTT Communications Corporation (NTT Com) announced today that it will wholly acquire Digital Forest Inc, Japan's leading provider of total web marketing ROI solutions, to develop Web-marketing analytics solutions for enterprise customers.

NTT Com will acquire all 12,134 shares of outstanding common stock of Digital Forest for 2,426,800,000 yen.

The new offerings will combine Digital Forest’s groundbreaking Visionalist Web-marketing analytics tool with Web-marketing consultation and total marketing solutions for customer relationship management (CRM), contact centers, Web/EC solution, billing and settlements, digital signage, mobile applications, security, hosting and data centers.

NTT Com and Digital Forest also will develop related Web-marketing services that incorporate related systems, such as recommendation or search engines, e-mail marketing, Website analytics, multivariate testing and consumer-generated-media (CGM) analytics for improved return on investment in merchandising. Additional services focused specifically on advertising will incorporate behavioral-targeting or pay-for-performance systems aimed at attracting customers efficiently and effectively.

Through the partnership, NTT Com expects to introduce marketing analytics solutions that will enable enterprises to better understand and react to their customers’ preferences. NTT Com will fully leverage the expertise it has acquired through its "OCN" and "Plala" Internet-access and "goo" portal businesses for individual customers.

The market for enterprise marketing analytics is envisioned growing rapidly as companies increasingly leverage their websites as marketing tools. Web marketing analytics solutions have become important tools the automatic management of marketing processes and the construction of total marketing platforms. Specific applications include measuring, analyzing and evaluating marketing data, making strategic decisions and connecting Websites to external systems, such as Web advertisements, or internal systems for CRM, inventory management and payments.
